October + The Season of Shedding

A Somatic Reflection for Release and Truth

October does not ask politely.
It strips. It clarifies.
It shows you what falls away when holding becomes too costly.

This is the month of honest release.
Not dramatic — inevitable.

This month, we practice letting go with dignity.

Begin Here

Find a comfortable position close to the ground — seated low or lying down.

Notice:

  • Where does your body feel heavy?

  • Where do you feel ready to loosen your grip?

  • What feels like it has already begun to leave?

Stay curious. Stay kind.

Move Intentionally

Allow your movement to mimic the act of shedding.

Try:

  • Shake out your hands, then your arms

  • Exhale audibly as you fold forward or curl inward

  • Gently sweep your hands down your body, as if brushing something away

Let gravity assist you.
You don’t have to carry everything forward.

Rest + Integrate

Settle into stillness again.
Notice the space created by release.

Ask gently:

  • What am I relieved to no longer hold?

  • What truth is clearer now that something has fallen away?

Let spaciousness speak.

If You’d Like to Reflect

You might consider:

  • What am I ready to stop pretending about?

  • What feels complete, even if it was once important?

  • What does my body want less of?

There is wisdom in ending.

A Closing Blessing

May you release without shame.
May what falls away nourish the ground beneath you.
May truth feel lighter than holding ever did.
